Importance of Hydration

Did you know?

If you do any sort of physical exercise you can benefit from better hydration… according to an article in the Journal of American College of Nutrition.

What does this really mean?

Do you want the most from your exercise regime.  Even if you’re a “weekend warrior” being properly hydrated will keep you performing at your best.

During a typical exercise routine you could lose 4 - 6% of your body weight in sweat loss.  Which may not seem like a ton, but what’s really interesting is that performance decreases when there is much lower levels of dehydrations… as low as 2%.

Many of us are chronically dehydrated and don’t even know it.

Some quick signs of dehydration are when you feel like you’re exerting more effort than what you have in the past for the same exercise.   It may seem like you’re really struggling at running that 5K, when just a few days ago you ran it without a problem. One of the biggest contributors to that is dehydration.

You could certainly try to replenish all of those fluids by drinking water.  But 4% of your bodyweight? Is that realistic? If you weigh 150 pounds that would be 6 pounds of water (a gallon of water weighs 8 pounds).  That’s a lot of water!

At vitality iv we want you to be at peak performance before, during and after exercise.  Which is why we recommend regular IV treatments. Not only will you benefit from being hydrated but with our amazing supplement additives we can make sure you have all the energy you will ever need to compete at the highest levels.
